Amin Goudarzi

Born in 1989 in Tehran, Amin started his musical studies at a young age, with classical guitar and piano. Very soon, he found his penchant for the bass, which he learned first with Babak Riahipour and later in France with Nicolas Lemoulet (at the Jazz à Tours school) and the great bass virtuoso, Dominique Dipiazza.

Amin began his professional music career at the age of 19 in Iran as a studio bassist. This period led him to play a wide variety of musical styles and to tour with popular singers, traditional Iranian music ensembles, big bands, flamenco music groups and the Tehran Symphony Orchestra.

However, it was during his painting studies at the Tehran Fine Arts High School that he became interested in the relationship between different artistic disciplines, especially between music and image, which find their intersection in cinema.

In 2011, he began a degree in musicology in Tours, including studies of harmony, arrangement, writing, jazz, etc.. He was then able to pursue his passion for film music thanks to the MAAAV (Musiques Appliquées Aux Arts Visuels) master's degree at the University of Lyon 2 and then at the Paul Dukas conservatory in Paris, in the film music composition class of Mr Jean-Miche Bernard.

Since 2014, Amin Goudarzi has the chance to work on the music of several short animation and fiction films, some of which have had numerous selections at international festivals.

In 2017, he composed the music for the credits of the Annecy animation festival. The same year, he was selected for the "TRIO" device (Maison Du Film) , the "Sirar" device (Aubagne Film Festival) and the composition competition of the Krakow Film Music Festival (Young Talents Awards).

Within the framework of the latter, our artist was able to compose the soundtrack of a Polish animated short film entitled "Bond", and to record this music at the "Penderecki center of music" in Poland. There, he also participated during one week in masterclasses with composers such as Howard Shore (Lord of the Rings), Trevor Morris (Vikings), Daniel Carlin (Homeland), Brian Tyler (Fast and Furious), Abel Korzeniowski (Penny Dreadful), etc.

Today, Amin Goudarzi concentrates entirely on composing film music and is also studying orchestration and conducting.
